Duties:
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the delivery service team.

As a Delivery Driver Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our customers' orders, particularly beds, with efficiency.

Your standard working week will be 38.75 hours (excluding breaks), and you will be compensated based on total hours worked to accommodate variations in daily routes. The schedule includes Saturdays with a designated day off during the week. No work on Sundays.

  • You will be on the road assisting a Delivery Driver in providing our top-quality home delivery service.
  • Throughout the delivery process, you will represent the Dreams brand professionally at every interaction.
  • This is a physically demanding role where you may need to lift various items, from mattresses to sofa-beds, in collaboration with your driver assistant.
Rest assured, our vehicles will be pre-loaded for your shift so you can hit the road promptly.

  • Supported by our training, you will become skilled in assembling furniture.
While assembling bedroom furniture at customers' homes, you will have the chance to build strong relationships with them.

  • At all times, you will strive to exceed customer expectations by providing exceptional service.

Experience Needed/ About You:

  • People-oriented: You should have a friendly and engaging demeanor and a genuine interest in delivering excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Experience: Prior experience in home delivery services would be beneficial.
  • Team player: Valuing teamwork and contributing to a positive work environment are essential qualities.
  • Resilient: Remaining composed under pressure is vital as things may not always go as planned.
  • Effective communicator: Strong communication skills are key for building relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Willing to learn: Initially, following instructions accurately is important, and being receptive to training to excel in assembly tasks.
During your onboarding, we will train you to become a proficient assembler, so being open to learning will be advantageous.

  • Flexible: Your availability should include working on Saturdays and having a flexible approach to work hours.

Pay/ Salary:

  • Pay rate: £11.50 for the first 12 weeks.
  • Pay rate: £11.98 from week 13 onwards.

Hours & Contract Type:

  • Working days: Monday to Saturday.
  • Payment frequency: Weekly.
  • Additional benefits: Free onsite parking.
  • Possibility for permanent positions after a temporary period.
