Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer

In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering designs for various project types and sizes as part of a team of engineers and support staff. You'll play a key role in maintaining high-quality service for clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring profitability.

Role Overview:

  • You will engage with clients, communicate project briefs within your team, and be a positive and effective communicator.
  • You will lead the development of strategic concepts for projects, ensuring they align with the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Taking charge in an integrated project design team alongside other construction professionals.
  • Owning the technical delivery of your work, either individually or as part of a team.
  • Mentoring junior staff, providing guidance to aid their skill development, and maximizing team potential.
  • Collaborating with the Group to share knowledge and support colleagues.
  • Playing a key role in monitoring finances, resources, and work delivery with the team leader.
  • Focusing on innovation and research to explore new working methods and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Maintaining a strong industry reputation and adhering to quality management and risk control procedures.

Requirements:

  • You should hold a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, and preferably be chartered or working towards it.
  • Membership of CIBSE/IET or a recognized engineering institution is desirable.
  • You must have a deep technical understanding of your field and Building Services Engineering, as well as experience in multidisciplinary work.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability in resource planning and team management.
  • Previous consultancy experience is preferred, with an appreciation for complementary specialisms in building design.
