RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Conduct thorough searches using detection dogs to identify pyrotechnics and illegal drugs.
  • Handle and care for detection dog, ensuring their welfare, health, and training. You will be solely responsible for the care of your dog.
  • Perform routine and random searches at gates and public areas.
  • Respond to security alerts and assist emergency services as required.
  • Maintain detailed records of search activities and incidents.
  • Collaborate with security teams and provide support in threat assessment and mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

BEHAVIOURS

  • Proven experience as a dog handler, with a primary focus on pyrotechnics and drug detection.
  • Strong understanding of canine behaviour and training techniques.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness to handle active duty and perform searches in various environments.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel using own vehicle.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient in remaining calm under pressure.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 NASDU certification
  • Provide own dog and vehicle.
  • Evidence of your right to work within the UK.
  • Provide evidence of your insurance documents
  • Hold a valid enhanced DBS
  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence

Job Types:
Part-time, Freelance

Pay:
£25.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No less than 8 per week

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Pyrotechnics and
Drugs Dog Handling: 1 year (preferred)

- security: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • SIA (preferred)
  • Level 3 NASDU certificate (required)
