Our Client is looking for someone to support the delivery of Business As Usual activities for the Business Engagement Team.


Job Purpose
As a Business Analyst in the Business Engagement Team you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging with areas of the business to understand and analyse their business problems, technology requirements and to articulate this into decision papers for board review and approval.
  • Designing business activities and processes with a requirement on technology enabling the progression of projects into delivery.
  • Working with the Business Engagement Manager or Project Manager, you will come together with operational colleagues, project teams and third party suppliers to translate business needs into requirements, business capabilities and solution options.
  • Enabling the business to make informed decisions on the options available to meet the business outcomes, their relative business value and therefore which projects to progress.
  • Creating key artefacts used in the business lifecycle: ie process models and maps, requirements (functional and nonfunctional), decision and options papers, benefits realisation etc.
  • Informing on a number of other artefacts including business and technology design, business change requirements, impact assessments etc.

Key Tasks

Responsible for:

  • Working with business users to coordinate and prepare the following artefacts with support as required:


Decision Papers, including
  • business cases, business justification papers, discovery papers, options papers.
  • Supporting Analysis Documentation use cases, process models and maps, functional specifications and designs.
  • Statement of Requirements functional and nonfunctional requirements and other business requirement documents.
  • Business Benefits benefits mapping, benefits realisation.
  • Ensuring requirements are appropriately implemented within the solution and are fully auditable.
  • Coordinating and preparing the decision papers (as above) at request of the Business Engagement Manager or Project Manager.
  • Defining the existing (asis) processes, lead the design of new (tobe) processes using Business Process Model Notation (BPMN), identify and quantify any gaps; develop recommendations for business improvements.
  • Producing business process models to support the analysis and design phase of projects using a modelling language such as Signavio.
  • Preparation for and facilitation of working groups and stakeholder meetings
  • Accurately completing and submitting time spent on projects for cross charging and proactively flag to the Resource Manager when they are becoming available.
  • Analysing customer requests; translating these into technical capabilities and assessing them against the Service Catalogue.
  • Assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business acceptance for successful delivery of projects and programmes.
