Commercial/Business Apprentice - Emco Wheaton - Margate
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To gain knowledge, skills and behaviours within specific business disciplines in order to provide support to these functions and qualify with college certification.
MAIN DUTIES:
Customer Service
- Prepare quotes for customers globally
- Prioritise and process customer orders.
- Be ready to assist customers with identification of the product they need, offering alternatives or kits as required.
- Be part of proactive initiative to reach out to customers and achieve our goals.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints quickly and patiently, including assisting customers who may have deviations in orders received.
- Using SAP on a daily basis to generate new quotations, create new customer orders, check stock availability and generate delivery reports for customers.
- Using Microsoft Office daily to communicate with colleagues and customers.
- Check product availability for customer orders, communicating to other departments within the business to obtain lead times for customer purchase orders.
- Communicate with other departments to provide solutions back to the customer in a timely manner.
- Provide weekly updates to customers regarding order statuses.
Planning & Procurement
- Contributes to administrative tasks related to production planning; including labour booking, closure of works orders and cost comparisons.
- Books scrap materials through the SAP system.
- Updates and maintains cell measures and KPI's.
- Assists with coordination of completed goods to dispatch as instructed.
- Supports the procurement team with the entry into SAP and reporting.
- Liaising with other departments; customer services, planning and operations teams as directed.
- Any other reasonable tasks as assigned or required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- GCSE or A'Level in Maths, English and Science at Grade 4 or above (essential).
- Excellent communication skills; written and oral (essential).
- Experience with Microsoft Office; Word and Excel (essential).
- Ability to work within a team and collaborate.
- Problemsolving skills.
