Salary:
£21,145 pro rata per annum

Hours: 22 per week

Contract type:

At PSS, we've got an important job to do; and that's to help people make the most of their lives.

Whether you're working directly with the people who use our services, or behind the scenes in one of our offices, every day you'll be helping to make other people feel happier, healthier and more supported.

We're a social enterprise or, as we like to call it - a 'business with a heart', which means all the money we make goes back into finding new ways to help people.

Our aim is simple; we want to help people change their lives for the better - no matter what life throws at them.

We've got offices across Merseyside, Wales, Yorkshire, Manchester and the Midlands, where we're making our stamp.

Shared Lives is a different type of adult placement that supports people who need a bit of extra help with daily things like cooking, cleaning, ironing and getting out and about to the shops.

Our matchmaker extraordinaire Development workers pair these people up with the perfect carer who give them a bed and a nice space to call their own, in their family home.

They'll get them settled in the local community, provide as much or as little support as they need and basically give them a hand in living a happy, fulfilled life.

Each Shared Lives placement is built around the individual person, their hopes and dreams and who'll be a good fit for them to live with.

There's lots of different types of people using Shared Lives, people with a learning disability, a mental health problem or people moving from a different type of care.

Our big-hearted Shared Lives team work very hard indeed to make sure people are well matched, that both carers and people using the service feel supported and - most of all - that everyone is happy.

This requires tons of organisation, an open-mind and the energy of the Duracell Bunny - that's why they could do with your help.

As Shared Lives Service co-coordinator you'll have a really important job to do. Our Shared Lives service has worked tirelessly (for 40 years now) to change people's lives for the better. That's serious business - meaning there's lots of serious admin to look after too.

This'll ensure that we're documenting everything we do for the good of the people we support today and also that we continue to be around for future generations.

In this role you'll make sure that people are where they need to be, when they need to be there; You'll have a beady eye, and know the importance of keeping all the i's dotted and all the t's are crossed; You'll also be a people person who can build relationships with the internal team, external partners, service users and carers alike.

What you'll do:

If you're successful, your main responsibility will be in supporting the team to be as consistent and efficient as physically possible.

You'll be the legs paddling under the surface, making sure our service users and carers feel as supported as possible.

You'll be a dynamo in the organisation and make sure the team can focus their attention on the people they work to improve the lives of.

In a nut-shell you'll look after:

  • The organisational admin stuff
- working with the Consistency and Efficiency managers, the Service manager, Shared Lives managers and Shared Lives Development workers looking after the day to day running of the office and keeping things smooth.

  • The high precision stuff
- making sure all our important data is logged, everything is organised and we're efficient and switched on.

  • The carer appreciation stuff
- booking our carers onto important training, making them feel looked after, building relationships with them and ensuring their records are updated and their voice is heard.

  • The bigpicture stuff
- tracking all that is going on, where we're up to, where we could get better, writing reports on this and passing this back to the team.

  • The positive and productive stuff
- building great relationships with the entire PSS team, being the go-to person when someone needs support and being flexible to the demands of the role.

You'll have:

  • A level 3 diploma in Business administration. If you're working towards an IT qualification too, this would help a lot.
  • Bags of empathy, respect, understanding and a commitment to the cause of improving people's lives and supporting people.
  • Meticulous organisational skills, a desire for quality improvement and IT proficiency.
  • Reams of energy, drive and a selfmotivated style, which means you don't mind working on your own sometimes, to your own initiative.
  • A flair with people and communicating effectively with lots of different types of people. You'll need to listen, build relationships and be personable. A passion for custom
