Job Responsibilities/Objectives

  • We are looking for a motivated engineer with a passion for Embedded systems, specifically telemetry solutions, to join our dynamic team of systems, hardware, and Embedded software engineers.
  • Your role will be vital in leading the development of a new telemetry system, including components like data loggers and telemetry radios, during the testing phase.
  • You will play a key role in system design, field validation, and deployment.
  • As part of the testing and validation phase, you will be present at about 30% of major events to offer on-site support.
  • Post-deployment, you will serve as the subject matter expert, providing field support to operational teams at around 50% of major events.
  • Based at the Media and Technology Centre, you will continuously enhance and refine the system based on field feedback.
  • You will collaborate with various engineering and operational teams to ensure the telemetry systems meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining and supporting both current and new telemetry systems, troubleshooting problems, and coordinating with regulatory bodies, teams, and internal stakeholders during events.
  • You will analyze telemetry data to identify performance issues and areas for enhancement.
  • To keep our telemetry system up-to-date with technology, you need to stay informed about the latest telemetry technologies and best practices, recommending new approaches to the team.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Completed a degree in electronics engineering or a relevant field, or have equivalent industry experience.
  • Robust knowledge of systems engineering principles, with experience in Embedded systems development and support.
  • Experience in designing or operating Radio Frequency-based telemetry systems.
  • Proficiency in networking, serial protocols, video encoding, RF systems, electronics hardware, and software design principles.
  • Experience with Linux Kernel drivers or an RTOS.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, working effectively in a diverse team environment and engaging with suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Skills in Python, C, and Linux.
  • Effective planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently.
  • Strong capability to create detailed technical documentation, including requirement specifications and test plans.

Desirable Skills/Experience

While not mandatory, the following skills are preferred:

  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis software.
  • Familiarity with regulations and standards like FIA or SAE.
