Ventilation Engineer Opportunity at Sellafield Ltd

An exciting chance to become part of our Engineering & Maintenance team as a Ventilation Engineer.

Ventilation Engineers within Sellafield provide specialized technical support and expertise for ventilation systems as part of the Sellafield Ventilation Technical Specialist Group. This team is responsible for the maintenance and support of ventilation activities across the organization.

The Engineer is tasked with developing and maintaining expertise on ventilation equipment to uphold high standards in performance, safety, and documentation. They conduct inspections to assess asset conditions and system health in alignment with maintenance programs.



  • Provide commissioning support for ventilation and filter services at Sellafield.
  • Ensure safety procedures are adhered to through appropriate training.
  • Collaborate with Reliability Engineers from various departments to optimize ventilation asset management.
Requirements:

  • Experience in working at heights and confined spaces.
  • Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status or potential to attain accreditation in mechanical engineering.
  • Expertise in mechanical and ventilation engineering, preferably within nuclear or industrial environments.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for mechanical equipment for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in conducting asset inspections and system performance checks to enhance reliability.
  • Capable of producing detailed reports and test sheets using standard IT software.
Further Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing ventilation commissioning on new systems.
  • Familiarity with proportional balancing of ventilation systems.
  • Knowledge in working safely at heights and confined spaces.
  • Training in Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) testing and CSA Training.
