Full time, fixed term contract until 02 May 2026.

Undertake research in order to support the work of the HistoMaps (HistoMaps: Stain agnostic feature representations to identify clinically relevant traits in the tumour microenvironment) project lead and assist the project collaborators in the successful execution of the project.

This is an immensely exciting opportunity to join the HistoMaps (HistoMaps: Stain agnostic feature representations to identify clinically relevant traits in the tumour microenvironment) project team based in the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick as a Research Fellow.

The HistoMaps project has received funding from MRC to develop AI tools for developing histology maps (HistoMaps) of the tumour microenvironment using haematoxylin and eosin (HE), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and multiplexed immunofluorescence (MxIF) stained whole slide images.

The collaborative project is led by Tissue Image Analytics (TIA) Centre at the University of Warwick and provides an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary dynamic team with collaborators from Warwick Medical School, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, University College London, Institute of Cancer Research, Royal Marsden Hospital and Nvidia on the MONAI project.

The TIA Centre at Warwick is a global leader in computational pathology and focusses on developing AI algorithms for the analysis of digital images for cancer diagnosis, grading and predicting cancer outcome.

You will also be expected to work closely with project partners in terms of data integration and management as well as development of enabling technologies in this area that can potentially meet regulatory requirements and be suitable for deployment into a clinical setting.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure (£32,411).

Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£33,348).
