Do you want to join an initiative team as they take the next steps towards the new 47 million pound Urgent and Emergency care facility on the East Coast, due to open September 2024?

The Same Day Emergency Care Therapy team are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and driven individual to join the team. The individual must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills to support developing the service to provide high quality, timely therapy assessment and interventions.

As a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist you will provide clinical leadership and professional management for the Same Day Emergency Care team; including prioritising/managing the daily caseload within the team, assessing and delivering therapy interventions, ensuring the highest professional standards of care are maintained, demonstrating adherence to the Trust Values and operating as a leader in the team, service and organisation.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the delivery of therapy services across the Same Day Emergency Care team alongside the senior leadership team. To provide specialist advice to therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team and wider. To use client-centred approaches to patient care. To participate in and provide clinical and management supervision. To contribute to multi-disciplinary team working. To contribute to and lead on service improvement and quality initiatives. To use the Trust electronic patient record system. To contribute to Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments. To abide by all Trust policies and procedures. To be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential

Degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist Practice placement supervisor qualification Evidence of relevant specialist CPD activities Post graduate qualification relevant to post (such as Master's level modules or clinically specific training) or willingness to complete Evidence of significant highly specialist post graduate training within designated area

Desirable

Membership of Professional body Membership of specialist section relevant to specialism Masters Qualification (Level 7) relevant to specialist area of practice (may include research and evidence-based practice) Leadership qualification Evidence of progression through occupational therapy career framework

Experience & Knowledge Required

Essential

Experience in specialist role, including the management of a range of complex conditions, with substantial evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision Evidence of ability to lead and act as an authority on the management of highly complex clinical presentations in specialist area Highly developed specialist clinical skills within relevant area Leadership of relevant audit and service improvement work. Substantial experience of assessment and provision of specialist equipment Able to demonstrate application of theoretical learning to clinical practice within a wide range of clinically complex situations.
