BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our commodities team as a weather risk analyst.

You naturally form original opinions, and have an exceptional ability to communicate these to your audience via robust, defendable and well-structured analysis.

You will have strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills along with a particular aptitude for critically analysing complex subjects.

We help commodity trading, corporate strategy, finance and policy professionals navigate change and generate opportunities.


You will be based in our London office as part of the gas, power and carbon team for BloombergNEF - the world's leading independent provider of analysis, tools, data and research to decision makers advancing the future of energy.

Our team of experts, spread across six continents, provides analysis and insight to the largest corporations across utilities and generation, oil & gas, equipment manufacturers, banking and finance, and government.

Developing a network of contacts in the industry and representing BNEF across a wide variety of senior stakeholders.

Strong communication skills with a particular focus on writing business English.

Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work.

Advanced and well-developed Excel skills.

A bachelor's degree in meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or other relevant subjects.

Post-graduate qualifications in sciences, applied Meteorology, engineering, business or economics.

Relevant work experience in energy or other commodity markets.
