Endoscopy can offer support and training, to gain exceptional knowledge and skills in gastroenterology, urology and respiratory, inclusive of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, whilst assessing and treating a range of health conditions.


Endoscopy undertakes a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP), Cystoscopy, Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) dependant on site advertising.

Your day will be varied spending time with Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Nurse Endoscopists and Bowel Screening Wales Practitioners.

This post is excellent grounding for both newly qualified and experienced registered nurses. We offer a range of endoscopy training courses, from basic skills to advanced skills.

All endoscopy staff follow a standard competency pathway with an allocated mentor and undertake training in accordance with their development needs.

This post offers the opportunity to further develop skills, such as, management skills, Bowel screening skills and specialist endoscopy skills, giving you a range of future prospects in nursing.


The Endoscopy service collaborates with a range of regional groups such as the National Endoscopy programme, The Welsh Association of Gastroenterology and the Welsh Endoscopy Nurse Training Network.

We deliver a high quality JAG accredited service, with three of our units being JAG Accredited with the fourth looking to attain accreditation in the near future.

The JAG accreditation is a prestigious award for endoscopy units to ensure a high standard of patient centred care through the development of the endoscopy workforce, audit process, decontamination processes and the endoscopy environment.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated, passionate and friendly team to join our service at Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth.
