Housekeeper - Layland Shortbreaks

Layland Short Break home is a four-bed bungalow situated in a peaceful corner of Liskeard.

It provides a warm and homely environment that meets the emotional, physical, cultural, religious, and spiritual needs of the children/young people we support.

The home offers planned short breaks for children/young people, aged 3-18 years, with complex healthcare needs, learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge.

When staying in the home it provides them with the opportunity to have positive experiences, where they can spend time socialising, go on outings, do activities, develop social living skills, and the time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

We are a small team consisting of an Ofsted Registered Manager, Team Co Ordinator, 4 Learning Disability Nurses/Team Assistants, 5 Health Care Assistants and 1 Housekeeper.

The post holder will have flexibility on working hours/days, due to Layland being a 7day service

To provide housekeeping services to the home environment.

The post holder is responsible for the daily cleaning of the home ensuring that the required standards are met, and the home is a safe and comfortable environment.

The post holder will work as an integral part of the Layland team.

The main elements of the role are ensuring the delivery of cleaning, minor maintenance, and occasional catering together with other specified tasks to meet the needs of the children and young people during their stay at Layland.

The post holder will be required to work closely with the Team Co-Ordinator, contractors, and support services departments. The post holder will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies.
