The Axial Programme will be powered by S/4HANA a new ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system which will be implemented right across the organisation and will provide our business with
standardised processes, enhanced financial management, common data and
real time reporting, transforming the way we work through our entire supply chain - from bench to patient.


The new system will be used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes.

This is a once in a generation programme for AstraZeneca and will shape our ways of working globally for many years to come.

We're now looking for an
Enterprise Process:
Sub Process Lead Enabling Systems to join our team.

In this role, you will work with the Enterprise Process Lead, Enabling Systems to provide support on the development and delivery of a transformational process strategy for remediating enabling systems architecture.

This role sits within the EPO area of R2R (inc. Tax, Treasury) in order to deliver the required business outcomes and move to S/4 HANA (Axial).

What you'll do:

  • Drive the remediation of enabling systems particularly in the Blackline space as well as other technologies.
  • Work with the Lead to establish a comprehensive enterprisewide view of all enabling systems.
  • Working with the Enterprise Process Lead, Enabling Systems to identify decommissioning opportunities as well as opportunities within S/4HANA (Axial).
  • Creates, governs, and implements the remediation of systems to align with the S/4HANA (Axial) vision.
  • Ensures that all process development delivers to AstraZeneca and regulatory standards, e.g. SHE, GxP, SOX, accounting GAAP etc
  • Acts as a source of knowledge in one or more areas of Business Improvement, defining and communicating current and future business improvement needs and opportunities.
  • Leads and inputs into the "Fit to Standard" workshops for the Discovery Phase of the project.
  • Maintains the process and technology for identifying and tracking continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritises business improvement issues and delivers own business improvement findings and recommendations to a crossfunctional team.
  • Enables crossfunctional sharing of business improvement ideas by ensuring adequate systems and processes for recording data in a centrally accessible manner.
  • Support the Enterprise Process Lead, Enabling Systems in implementing changes to improve the way various functions and teams perform.
  • Oversees specialised research to deliver new proposals and amalgamates findings so they can be used to underpin new business initiatives.
  • Coordinates the development and presentation of best options or working models to enhance business continuity or improve business performance.
  • Keeps own knowledge of best practices on business information and intelligence such as Lean Sigma process current.
  • Leads and implements globally agreed Business Improvement strategies including process and technology related to the function.

Essential for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant experience in Business Improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills within a matrix organisation
  • Significant experience of Blackline
  • In depth knowledge of own process area and associated data, and integrations with other processes.
  • Solid understanding of business process management, and establishing and governance global stand
