About The Role

Location:

Days & Hours:
Monday to Sunday care, typical shifts being 7:30am to 8pm and 10am to 10pm due to 2:1 care.

The Team Leader will be part of the rota with an extra 4 hours a week for admin.

Bank hours:

Flexible hours available to meet Julian's needs, additional hours may also be available at weekends, in school holidays and to cover the absences of other members of the team.


Pay:

Pay Rate 1:
£13.50 per hour - Monday to Friday, Days, 7am - 8pm

Pay Rate 2:
£14.00 per hour - Monday to Friday, 8pm to 10pm

Pay Rate 3:
£15 per hour - Weekends and Bank Holidays, Days, 7am - 8pm

Pay Rate 4:
£15.50 per hour - Weekends and Bank Holidays, Waking Nights, 8pm to 10pm.

Pay rate 5:
NLW (currently £10.42 per hour for aged sleeping nights

The Team leader will receive an uplift of £2.50 per hour for admin duties on top of their hourly rate.

Driving Clients Car? Yes, Julian's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), manual - confident driver

Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? No, you may need use of a car to get to work and to attend training

Essential Experience:
Confident working in a family home

Desirable:
Experience working with children/young adult with trauma and an interest in therapy - PEG feeding

Pets:
Cats and dogs are always in the family home

Accommodation (while on duty):Purpose built family home to meet Julian's needs, which includes carers accommodation (bedroom/bathroom/kitchenette)

Julian, born in 2002, is a lovely and happy young man with a cheeky sense of humour. He enjoys playing within his home which is equipped with a 'multi sensory' room and other specialist play equipment.

However, he also likes to be out and about and enjoys his weekly hydrotherapy session in Southampton in school holidays.

He particularly loves his bath times Julian attends a local special needs college full time (during term time).

Julian has complex needs and learning difficulties. He has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is non-verbal and visually impaired. All his medication and fluids are administered via PEG. Julian requires 2:1 care and has a dedicated team in place. Julian lives in a fully adapted house with his mother, step-father and younger sibling and family pets. He needs help with all aspects of daily living.

Pay and Benefits:Between £13.50-£15.

50 per hour depending on experience (National Living wage for Sleeping nights)
