Stock Control Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Stock Control Assistant to join our fast-growing and ever-evolving business.
Role outline:
The Stock Control Assistant will take an active role to support the Purchasing department across a range of activities which will include areas such as generating purchase orders for goods and services, receiving goods and preparing orders for delivery to customers.
In addition, a variety of other duties and projects will be involved, such as Continuous Improvement and health and safety activities, dealing with supplier queries and periodic stock-takes.
The role is varied in that it will provide a comprehensive service across the business to ensure that the Purchasing department's objectives are met in line with the business strategy.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Calculate material requirements for production activities, compare with inventory quantities and place appropriate purchase orders for parts
- Receive purchase order goods in Sage 200
- Progress chase overdue purchase order lines
- Manage supplies of PPE items
- Process purchase orders for goods and services
- Prepare sales orders for collection/post/carrier delivery to customers (as well as pick and pack the items)
- Prepare sales orders for loose stock items ready for loading each day
- Carry out perpetual inventory counts and stocktakes (as required)
- Assist the Purchasing Assistant Manager in meeting departmental and company objectives
- Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as may be required in accordance with business needs
NOTE:

Person specification:
- Proven standard of literacy and numeracy
- Demonstrable experience of ICT skills (Microsoft Excel and databases)
- Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and external contacts
- Effective team member who is both flexible and dependable
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to effectively multitask and prioritise work
- Willingness to learn new skills
