Chevron is accepting online applications for Finance & Business Controller - Global Marin e position through 06/21/2024 at 11:59 p.m. You will join an international team and support a department that operates globally. You are in close contact with colleagues from the Shared Service Centers (SSC), the corporate finance team and stakeholders from the business. You carefully monitor the timely delivery of up-to-date figures and translate them into the business. You will be given a great deal of autonomy to complete your work successfully. You will be responsible for the following tasks, among others: Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Responsible for the timely close of the accounting books for Global Marine Lubricants and the integrity of data contained in the financial records
  • Provides accounting expertise, direction and guidance to the Global Marine Lubricants Organization & to the shared service centers (MSSC & BASSC) recording the transactions
Manages external accounting service providers to ensure :
  • Timely data uploads from the local ERP to SAP
  • Statutory accounts completed & filed on time
  • Manage the statutory audit
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the 3rd party service provider
Strategic & Business Planning Facilitation
  • Co-ordinates the Global Marine Lubricants business planning process together with the Global Marine Lubricants Finance & Business Support Manager: works closely with the Marine Lubricants Leadership team and Supply Chain to complete the business plan P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Responsible for alignment of data in the planning database and approved business plan
  • Responsible for implementation of the business plan processes in Global Marine Lubricants
Coordinates the annual account planning process Business Decision Analytical Support & Performance Management Reporting
  • Responsible for management reporting, trend and variance analysis
  • Prepares the monthly performance review for Global Marine Lubricants
  • Provides input into the financial forecast
  • Designs and develops improved reporting to support the Global Marine Lubricants in improving the results
  • Ensures data in the profitability tool is accurate and aligned with Marine Lubricants financial reporting
Digitizing Effort:
  • Plays a key role in optimizing and digitizing the financial reporting
  • Provides analytical and financial knowledge support to the Marine Leadership to support various digitizing effort
Skills required:
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Technical accounting skills & strong working knowledge of corporate accounting policies (US GAAP) & procedures.
  • Planning & Reporting Skills
  • Process Improvement Skills
  • Ability to work under pressure & to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate finance matters to all levels of the business.
  • Teamwork/Interpersonal - ability to interact with a broad range of stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to develop effective working relationships with peers, other departments / functions, customers and service center personnel.
  • Fluent with digital tools, experience with SAP and PowerBI
