Our pharmacy service plays a crucial role within multi-disciplinary teams, significantly impacting patient care. It's a dynamic phase for our Pharmacy Department as we strive to enhance our clinical pharmacy services continually.

Who We're Looking For

We encourage applications from current Foundation Trainee Pharmacists expected to register later this year, as well as from experienced registered pharmacists.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the clinical pharmacy service supporting medical and surgical wards, hospital dispensary, and aseptic unit.
  • Develop clinical and personal skills through on-call and late shift work.
  • Gain experience in medicines information, procurement, anticoagulation clinics, and participate in teaching sessions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or in the process of registration
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Experience in a hospital environment (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in organizational skills, prioritization, and meeting deadlines
  • Initiative-driven with a focus on self-development
  • High standards of work, attention to detail, and ability to present information clearly
  • Understanding of current hospital pharmacy practices
  • Basic awareness of broader NHS and Pharmacy landscape (Desirable)
  • Ability to supervise and provide feedback on the work of other pharmacy staff (Desirable)
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a hospital pharmacy team
  • Comfortable engaging with various stakeholders and working effectively in a team
  • Capable of handling pressure and remaining calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and positive attitude towards change, along with the ability to seek guidance when needed
