The Learmonth Hotel is a 64 Bedroom hotel in the West End of Edinburgh, very close to the Stockbridge area.

The Hotel is currently operating under a private contract and is closed to the public although work has begun on the refurbishment of our Hotel as we look to re-open in 2023 as The Learmonth Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals.

The main duty of the Housekeeping Assistant will be to support the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department.

This will include:

  • Regular cleaning of guest Bedrooms to the required standard as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor and Hotel Manager.
  • Maintaining the public areas of the hotel including corridors, staircases, lift and bathrooms to assist in providing our guests with a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
  • Assisting with the restocking of amenities and linen in pantries.
  • Helping to organise and pack dirty linen for collection.
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests e.g. iron and ironing boards.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
  • Cleans guest bathroom/bedrooM/Floor corridor.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Empty waste bins and where possible, ensuring recyclable materials are disposed of correctly.
  • Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet.
  • Return and restock cart at end of shift.
  • Perform any deep cleaning or rotational tasks as requested.


We are looking for someone to join our Housekeeping Team on a Part-Time basis, primarily covering weekends to support the team and guests.

This will be a minimum 16 hours per week although, more hours may be available if desired to cover an increase in business, holidays or absences.
