We are seeking a Graduate Engineering Geologist to join our team.

As an Engineering Geologist, you will play a vital role in the assessment and management of geological hazards and risks associated with engineering projects.

Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safety, stability, and sustainability of construction projects, as well as providing valuable geological insights to support engineering design and decision-making processes.

This position requires a strong background in geology, engineering principles, and a keen understanding of the interaction between geology and engineering.


Responsibilities:


Conduct thorough site investigations and geological assessments to identify and characterize subsurface conditions, geological hazards, and potential risks that may affect engineering projects.


Evaluate and interpret geological data, including soil and rock samples, geotechnical reports, geological maps, and other relevant information, to provide accurate assessments of site conditions.


Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to develop geotechnical recommendations and design solutions that mitigate geological risks and ensure the stability and integrity of structures.


Perform geotechnical analyses, such as slope stability analysis, foundation design, and groundwater assessments, to determine the suitability of sites for construction and inform engineering decisions.


Conduct geological mapping and develop geological models to understand the distribution and characteristics of subsurface materials, rock formations, and groundwater systems.


Provide expert advice and guidance on geological aspects of engineering projects, including land development, infrastructure projects, and natural hazard assessments.


Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including geological site investigations, geotechnical recommendations, and hazard assessments, to communicate findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.

Monitor construction activities and conduct geotechnical inspections to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications and engineering designs.


Stay updated with the latest developments in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, and relevant regulations to enhance professional knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement within the organization.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings to provide geological expertise and support project planning and execution.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.
D. in a relevant discipline is preferred.

Proven experience working as an Engineering Geologist in a similar role, preferably in a consulting or engineering firm.

Strong knowledge of geological principles, soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and relevant industry standards and regulations.


Proficient in geotechnical software and data analysis tools commonly used in the field, such as GIS, slope stability software, and geological modeling software.

Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed site investigations, evaluate geological hazards, and provide accurate geotechnical recommendations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex geological data and make sound engineering judgments.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Strong project management abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Proactive and self-motivated, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and continuously improving professional knowledge and skills.

Professional certifications and memberships in relevant geotechnical and geological organizations are highly desirable.
