AD Energy is exclusively recruiting for a Test and Development engineer in Coventry to work on cutting-edge projects within automotive and motorsport development. The ideal candidate must have:
- Experience of test bed automation tools such as AVL Puma, Sierra CADET, FEV MORPHEE, Horiba STARS
- Experience in powertrain test and development
- Experience of data analysis tools
On offer is the chance to work in one of the top UK facilities for powertrain development and become an expert in industry-leading test and development software tools for the automotive and motorsport sectors.
*Note: If you do not have a background in Automotive engineering or a related degree, this opening may not be suitable for you. Full understanding of automotive powertrains, vehicle engineering, or mechanical engineering fundamentals is essential.
Test and Development Engineer RoleThe Test and Development Engineer will play a vital role in a state-of-the-art powertrain testing facility. Responsibilities include:
- Definition and development of methods, processes, and tools for efficient testing on various powertrain testbeds
- Managing delivery of rig tests and presenting results in customer meetings
- Developing automated test programs
- Acting as a focal point for test automation support and advice
Additionally, the Engineer will interact with internal/external customers on requirements capture and test delivery coordination.
Your Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the "unit-under-test" from installation and setup through to assessing its condition after testing
- Support the team in technical and methodological areas
- Ensure testbeds operate efficiently and deliver high-quality results
- Perform other work within your capability as required by the company
Essential:
- Working towards B.Sc. / M.Eng. level in a relevant engineering area (Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical)
- Experience in Powertrain, engine, EV components testing
- Knowledge about vehicle dynamics, powertrain architecture, and test rig infrastructure
- Developing creative and unconventional ideas
- Team spirit, creativity, sense of responsibility
Preferable:
- Experience with data analysis tools (Concerto, Matlab, INCA, MDA, etc.)
- Experience with network analysis tools (CANalyzer, etc.)
