Manchester, United Kingdom The University of Manchester Full time

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Cancer Biology and Therapy within the Pharmaceutical Sciences group at the University of Manchester.

The post is available from 1 April 2023 (start date flexible) and will be tenable on a fixed term basis for 24 months.

You will contribute to a June Hancock Mesothelioma Research funded project focusing on the in vivo and in vitro analysis of a novel class of immuno-oncology agents.

The project will involve pre-clinical in vivo models of mesothelioma as well as a bespoke bioreactor system in vitro. Analysis of the effects of the novel drugs will focus on immunological parameters.

This is an interdisciplinary project and you should be able to interact effectively with researchers from a range of other disciplines to contribute to the programme of research.

You should hold a PhD or equivalent in cell biology, immunology or a related discipline.

Detailed knowledge of, and experience in, in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo validation of biologically active compounds is essential.

Experience in the use of complex in vitro cancer modelling, as well as a developing track record of publications, is highly desirable.
