About the Position:

We are looking for two exceptional individuals to join our vibrant Educational Psychology Service (EPS) team as Deputy Principal Educational Psychologists (DPEP). As part of the DPEP team, you will collaborate with colleagues from various teams focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and the broader Education Directorate. You will also lead a group of Education Psychologists (EP's) and assistant EPs within your quadrant. Your role will involve applying psychological principles effectively to support children, young people, schools, families, and communities. DPEPs play a crucial role in managing and supporting quadrant team members, ensuring their professional practice is efficient and of high quality. Additionally, DPEPs actively contribute to the strategic growth of the service and related initiatives in the Local Authority.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
  • Doctorate or Masters degree in Professional Educational Psychology
  • HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist or eligibility for registration upon training completion
  • Strong grasp of relevant legislation and evidence-based approaches
  • Dedication to applying psychology for the betterment of children and young people's lives
