Job summary:

As SO3 Recruiting Processes, you will be responsible to SO2 Policy and SO1 Plans and Policy.

Your role is central to the coordination and management of the recruiting process, policy elements and operations for RAF Recruiting.


Maintaining close dialogue and liaison with SO2 Policy, Recruiting Operations and the Corporate Governance Team is crucial, as is the understanding and knowledge of how the roles interlink to ensure appropriate and effective implementation and maintenance of Recruiting Policy and Processes.

In managing your area of responsibility, you are to ensure that both best practice and value for money are achieved.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description:

The tasks undertaken in the role include but are not limited to:

  • Researching, proposing where appropriate, amendments to recruiting and selection protocols, including policy, processes and consequently manage the publication AP3391 (RAF Recruiting Manual).
  • Being the focal point for recruiting & selection policy and process promulgation working alongside where appropriate SO2 Policy, Officer Processing, Corporate Governance Team, Recruiting Operations, OASC, Spec Teams and other internal and external depts./contactors as required/relevant.
  • Lead and manage the annual update exercise for Specialisation Selection Sheets and Specialisation Information Leaflets in close liaison with Profession Advisors for publication via AP3391. Act as the focal point to promulgate updated Profession's information to the R&S Marketing Dept. for the external Recruiting website and the external Careers Information Line.
  • Lead the development of the Change Management process; organizing meetings with key stakeholders and circulating the new process in a timely manner.
  • Taking the lead in overseeing and reviewing recruiting processes in the light of wider policy changes including transformation in conjunction with other relevant depts, and AP3391 Sponsors as required.
  • Promulgation of process trials, as applicable, to test proposed new procedures taking place within the Recruiting Force.
  • Liaising with SO2 Policy on all policy matters and associated proposed changes. Supporting the delivery of the policy and processes.
  • Ensuring that all necessary amendments to recruiting processes and standards are accurately and efficiently reflected in the relevant recruiting documentation working with Document Sponsors. Liaise with responsible parties to promulgate amendment updates to the Virtual AFCO, External Careers Information Line and RAF Recruitment website.
  • Liaise with OASC for Officer Recruiting Process Changes as required.
  • Produce and manage publication of the RAF Recruiting Orders monthly/fortnightly as content dictates. Manage distribution to the external Careers Information Line.
  • Plan & manage redesigns in accordance with Transformation.
  • Lead and present on Recruiting process/policy changes.
  • Line Management responsibilities.
  • You may also be required to undertake reasonable tasks, as directed by your Line Manager commensurate with the grade and experience.

Person specification:

Essential

  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to communicate coherently and sensitively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Strong networking skills, with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with a wide variety of people/organisations.
  • Strong administrative experience.
  • Proven IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable

Recent experience of working in Recruiting and Selection.

Recent experience of working in a Headquarters.
