40hrs per week

We are recruiting a Goods Out Forklift Truck driver for our busy Goods Out department.

You are required to hold a valid B1 Counterbalance License (up to 5000kg) and must provide evidence of this at interview.

You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Despatch and Transport Manager. You will be responsible for the loading of vehicles and supporting the production team with the movement of board.


Health and safety is a very important aspect within our business and you will be accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines.


As a Forklift Truck driver, you will be responsible for the daily vehicle checks ensuring that the Forklift truck is in good working order, and you report any maintenance issues.

While working in the factory it is your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings and adhere to the workplace transport guidelines as set out by the company.

The role requires you to work with a variety personnel within your area of production.

About you

  • Valid FLT license B1 Counterbalance License (up to 5000kg) is essential
  • Experience preferred but not essential for the loading and unloading different types of pallets and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of good health and safety practices
  • Proven experience of working towards KPI's and deadlines within a fastpaced environment
  • Effective communication skills; both written and verbally
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good Understanding of receiving stock and checking paperwork
  • The ability to make informed decisions
