We are looking for a Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join us as a Mental Health Practitioner (Band 6) in the Early Intervention Psychosis team in Cambridge - CAMEO.

CAMEO is the specialist Early Intervention Psychosis service in Cambridgeshire. This post will be located in the dynamic andmulti-cultural city of Cambridge.

We cover Cambridge City, Ely and surrounding areas, as well as south Cambridgeshire towards the Hertfordshire border. We have adopted a hybrid model of working and would welcome applicants from neighbouring counties.

Join the CAMEO family - YouTube Main duties of the job The role of the Mental Health Practitioner is to work in partnership with CAMEO service users, developing their care plans and recovery plans to enable them to lead fulfilling lives.

You must be compassionate, committed, and keen to learn and develop knowledge about the EI model.

They will demonstrate an understanding of clinical interventions relevant to CAMEO protocols to include assertive outreach approaches, psycho-education, relevant aspects of social inclusion, recovery, care plans and discharge planning, working closely with carers, families and partner agencies to facilitate this.

The post holder will work at all times to promote the safety and the wellbeing of service users and their families/carers. The post holder will assess, plan and implement care, and provide specialist advice pertinent to their professional background and carry out relevant specialist interventions.

They will provide clinical supervision to staff and students. The postholder will ensure that the early intervention approach and ethos are adhered to, this includes working with the under 17 age range as required.   • To undertake assessment of individuals and their families/carers accessing the service with complex health presentations, including those service users presenting with higher levels of risk.
  • To develop alongside the service user, their care plan.
  • To offer specialist professional assessment and advice where required.
  • To assess and manage on going risks as identified during the assessment, ensuring that this is done in collaboration with the service user and carers.
  • To regularly review risk factors and make changed to the management of them as necessary.
  • To work using assertive outreach approaches to engage the service user and their families.
  • To ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures.
  • To provide supervision of junior staff and trainees where appropriate.
  • To act within the professional code of conduct at all times.
Person Specification Education / Qualifications Essential
  • Registered Nurse with current registration [mental health/LD/Adult], appropriate to the job role OR, Registered Social Worker OR, Registered OT
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience Essential
  • Significant post qualifying experience in working with those presenting with serious mental illness
  • Experience of working alongside people with complex health problems in the designated care group
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of managing a caseload
  • Experience of providing a range of clinical interventions to people in the designated care group with a variety of health problems
  • Experience of conducting clinical assessments including risk assessments
  • Previous experience of working in the community
Desirable
  • Lived experience of mental health issues

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective professional relationships with others
