Job Summary

We're seeking an individual to join our innovative Clinical Photography team at UHB, a prominent NHS Trust in the UK. You'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills, explore various imaging techniques, and positively impact our patients and their families. As part of this role, you will lead a dynamic team of clinical photographers and administrators, managing our Teledermatology clinics.

Our focus is on delivering clinical imaging and photographic services to drive innovation and research across various specialties such as Ophthalmology, Maxillofacial, Burns & Plastics, and Dermatology.

We're in search of a talented leader and effective communicator with strong technical skills to join our team.

We provide extensive training and ongoing support for career progression to all our staff.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Medical Illustration or equivalent and have prior experience working as a Clinical Photographer.

You'll be responsible for covering multiple hospitals and community sites within a fixed-term role of 6 months, with potential for permanent placement.

Main Duties of the Job

- Capture clinical photographs across various locations at UHB.

- Co-lead the AI-based Teledermatology service to ensure timely treatment for patients with suspected skin cancer.

- Collaborate with the Communications Team for PR photography.

- Uphold local policies and procedures while maintaining high-quality clinical work.

- Support and mentor trainee clinical photographers, overseeing the department's daily operations.

- Ensure equipment maintenance, record consumables, and uphold patient confidentiality and consent.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Medical Illustration / Clinical Photography or equivalent.
  • Academy for HealthCare Science registration.

Desirable

  • Member of the Institute of Medical Illustrators or similar professional body.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in a Medical illustration department.
  • People management skills.
  • Image Management software proficiency.

Desirable

  • Experience in various hospital settings.
  • Adobe Photoshop and Camera Raw Software expertise.

  • Specialist Clinical Photography including the use of Dermatoscope.
  • Diverse photographic experience with different equipment.
  • Excellent IT skills and interpersonal communication.
  • Capacity for goal-oriented work and teamwork.
  • Commitment to enhancing patient services and maintaining professional standards.
  • Networking and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of photographic software and databases.
