An experienced IT Technician is needed to join our team at the Holme Grange School in Wokingham.

The main responsibilities will be to ensure that the school's IT and communications systems are fully able tosupport the teaching, learning and management of the School.

Salary:
£22k - £27k dependent on experience and qualifications relevant to the position

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide frontline IT and technical support for the benefit of the school's daytoday operations
  • To support the IT Team in providing prompt responses to incoming support requests
  • To be customerfacing to staff and students
  • Prioritising and responding to incoming support requests via a ticketing system
  • Build hardware, components and peripherals for classrooms, theatre halls, studios and school events
  • Performing updates and upgrades
  • Performing maintenance and servicing to the fleet of printers
  • Providing technical assistance as part of the IT team for school events
  • Leading the operation of the IT department
  • Overseeing scheduled maintenance, inventory and consumable upkeep around the school
  • To build on the recordkeeping for hardware loans and software licenses
  • Understanding best practices and procedures an IT department should follow for safe and efficient operation
  • Issuing any advice on best practices and procedures for the IT department

Required Skills:

The School has recently rolled out a number of projects where the IT team would greatly benefit from someone with experience in:

  • MS 365 development
  • Azure Active Directory migration
  • Teams, SharePoint, OneNote and other 365 product integrations
- 'One to One Device' project

  • Windows Devices troubleshooting
  • Apple Devices troubleshooting
  • Whiteboards/projectors
  • Fleet Managed Printers
  • Ticketing experience
  • Office environment experience
  • Continued improvement and development of the Audio-Visual setup
  • Be supportive of the aims and ethos of the School
  • A team player
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Proactive, sound judgement combined with the highest standards of personal integrity, energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humour
  • The ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload, to meet deadlines, and to work calmly under pressure

Required Experience:

  • IT experience
  • Experience in supporting IT in a controlled environment and previous experience of working in a Professional team and supporting daytoday developments
  • Working knowledge of automated software installations
  • Microsoft server 2012 and above skills, active directory DNS, DHCP, group policies and Office
  • 365 skills desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential
  • You must also be Microsoft qualified such as MCP/ MCSA/ MCSE/ MCTS or hold other industryrecognised qualifications
