- Basic numeracy & literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Catering experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided
You will receive a comprehensive training package to give you the skills and knowledge to work effectively as a Catering assistant.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of a Catering assistant are:
- Deliver good principles of customer care ensuring helpfulness, awareness and compassion to patients, visitors, staff and colleagues.
- Preparation and delivery of hot and cold food to patients.
- Cleaning duties within the kitchen and other associated areas in accordance with departmental cleaning schedules to include equipment, work surfaces crockery and cutlery.
- Probing and recording food temperatures.
- Completion of catering department procedural paperwork such as temperature checks and monitoring.
- Deal with internal and external communication using both verbal and written material.
