We secure funding in various innovative ways – from large grants like the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to strong commercial partnerships and community-driven campaigns.


Internally, this role is known as a National Grants Officer, focusing on fundraising for our top projects through statutory and lottery grants.

You'll collaborate closely with national grants managers and regional grants consultants, to develop and submit successful grant applications.

Your work base will be at our headquarters in Swindon, with some flexibility for remote work. Expect to be present at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your workweek, which will be discussed further during the interview.


Responsibilities:

  • Work nationally across the six regions and countries of the NT
  • Report to the Co-Head of Grants
  • Make grant applications and support funder relationships
  • Participate in tasks related to our strategic grants delivery plan
  • Develop and submit applications to various funders
  • Support project development aligned with funders' requirements
  • Collaborate with specialists, project teams, and grants fundraisers
  • Research, share information, lead bids, and nurture funder relationships
  • Support the grants team plan


Requirements:

  • Experience in leading, developing, and writing grant applications
  • Understanding of statutory and lottery funding
  • Ability to develop projects and nurture funder relationships
  • Strong bid writing, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
