Job summary
To support and deputise for the Ward Sister to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources. Also to carry out the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the ward/department. To ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff, including pre and post registration students and /or providing specialist knowledge.Main duties of the job

Belgrave Ward is a very busy general cardiology ward and is part of the newly formed Cardiology Clinical Academic Group to further developments in Cardiology.
We now have a permanent position for a Junior Sister (band 6) to provide day to day leadership of this busy 24 bedded cardiology ward. Belgrave Ward is a dynamic ward that is changing with the increasing demands on the St George's Cardiology service, a regional tertiary centre delivering high quality care.
You will be expected to work as an excellent role model both for clinical skills and leadership. You will be part of multi-disciplinary team working together to provide quality service provision, excellent clinical management and safe and effective discharge if you are ambitious and have excellent leadership skills and can make a real difference for caring for cardiology patients this is the job for you.

RN (general) Minimum of three years post registration experience, of which 12 months must be in cardiology as a band 6 Must be competent in 12 lead ECG and rhythm strip interpretation Awareness of professional responsibilities Knowledge of current nursing issues.Desirable
