Yard Apprentice

Joining our friendly and hard working family as a
Yard Apprentice, you'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our yard.

As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.

What will I be doing?
Not one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:

• Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it's essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service
• the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
• Full training is provided in order to drive our forklifts.
• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.

This role is based in our Travis Perkins Liverpool Central branch, this is a growing team where you are really made to feel at home.

This is a rather large branch in an established position within their area. With a team that all gets stuck in and help each other out when in busier periods.

This is an opportunity for someone with little to no experience to get their teeth stuck in and develop a long lasting career with us.

The team will take you under their wing along with Kevin the branch manager, to really give you the best development opportunities.

They have a soon to be team of 16, 1 hgv wagons and a full tool hire department with 2 sprinter vans.

We are looking for someone to bring confidence and customer service skills to be the front of our business working on the counter.

For this role we are looking for someone with a driving licence who can also be a relief driver for our sprinter vans.

My name is Natalie, and I currently work as part of the recruitment team here at Travis Perkins, but I started of my career in my local branch when I was 18 completing a development programme, which I then became a Branch Supervisor Let me tell you more about us, and why you should consider a career with our brilliant business.

Training on offer:

As part of your role you will enrol onto a 12 month programme, you will gain a Level 2 Trade Supplier qualification.

All of your learning is "on the job", Travis Perkins values a work-life balance and there is no need for you to complete any of your work "out of hours".

The training consists of a number of modules and you will have a dedicated coach that will guide you throughout, as well as being supported by your line manager (and in my case a really supportive team who I consider to be my friends)

Just remember you are
never too old to start a Development Programme

Once your development programme is completed you will remain a valued member of the team.
