Job Description

We have multiple full-time vacancies for Missing from Home and Child Exploitation Case Workers in the following areas:

- 2 x FTE Missing & Child Exploitation Caseworkers in Knowsley
- 1 x FTE Missing & Child Exploitation Caseworker in St Helens
- 1 x FTE Missing & Child Exploitation Caseworker in Wirral

You'll be supporting children and young people aged 10 to 18 who are at risk of exploitation, whether they are aware of it or not.

As a Caseworker (Missing from Home & Child Exploitation) your main duties will include:

  • Undertaking return interviews within 72 hours for all notifications
  • Determining appropriate support plans and pathways for all young people, including interventions and direct work
  • Working with Children's Social Care to provide support in cases of exploitation
  • Delivering educational awareness in residential homes to manage and reduce risks for young people
  • Supporting positive media messages and marketing to young people through partnerships
  • Collaborating with Local Authorities to ensure effective interventions and services
  • Identifying and facilitating access to specialized services for young people and parents
  • Building relationships with agencies and ensuring regular referrals
  • Recording all interactions within specified systems
  • Completing monitoring tasks to track progress and outcomes
  • Supporting and supervising volunteers and social work students

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade "C" or above
Desirable Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in Youth/community work, Social Care, Health, or Education
Essential Experience
  • Direct experience working with young people presenting support needs
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating support activities for young people
  • Case management, assessment, and action planning
  • Experience in Health and Safety, risk management, and partnership working
  • Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding processes
Desirable Experience
  • Working with diverse groups and supporting volunteers
  • Multi-agency team experience
Essential Knowledge
  • Understanding of issues affecting young people at risk
  • Knowledge of Equality & Diversity
Desirable Knowledge
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation like Children's Act, Every Child Matters
Essential Skills/Abilities
  • Effective communication, engagement, and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
  • Organizational and evaluative skills, promoting equality and diversity
  • Report writing and deadline management

Additional Information:

Salary: £24,961
Contract: Full time, permanent
