Our Cardiology services are some of the most advanced in the country, cover a range of services including our acute cardiology ward, angiography suite and our coronary care unit, which is the PPCI Centre for Norfolk.

In addition to this, we are the Norfolk Heart Attack Centre and winners of student placement of the year 2019.


We are incredibly lucky to have a department with new space created by the £15 million spend on our new IRU unit and a complete refurbishment of the cardiac catheter labs; the department is going from strength to strength.


We are looking for two part time Receptionist's to become members of a hardworking team, who provide administrative support to our Cardiology Out-patients department.


Part time vacancies available:

27 hours per week (vacant now)

22 hours per week (available from 01/02/24)

We are looking for a high-quality reception and support service within the OutpatientsDepartment, and as such, you will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust.


In order to provide a support service to the technical staff, a versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.

  • To carry out receptionist duties, including prioritising and arranging appointments and maintaining the various appointment systems, identifying test requests and investigations, and coordinating the various clinics within the department.
  • To deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner and provide assistance as required.
  • To ensure patients safety and wellbeing in the waiting area prior to them being called for their appointment and alerting appropriate staff to any cause for concern.
  • To keep a log of telephone requests for investigations in line with department policy, prioritising these and ensuring messages are conveyed to the appropriate technical staff.
  • To ensure appointment lists are maintained and prepared in readiness for clinical work.
  • To obtain and prepare notes in readiness for clinics, investigations or at the request of staff within the department.
