Boiler Room started with a webcam taped to a wall, broadcasting from a warehouse in London, opening a keyhole to the city's underground.

DIY at its finest; raw uncut and homemade.

As an independent music platform and cultural curator, we remain true to that history. Connecting club culture to the wider world, on screen and irl through parties, film and video.


Since 2010 we have built a unique archive featuring over 4,000 performances by more than 5,000 artists spanning 150 cities; enabling everyone regardless of where they live to enjoy the freedom it stands for.


Our remit is to platform music in new ways - sound on for the voices and stories of the fringes of the mainstream.

YOUR ROLE

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


As a Boiler Room Intern you will have the opportunity to work in a creative, diverse and exciting company: Being a part of the whole process from conception of an idea, to show output.

You will support, assist, contribute, learn and grow within the Boiler Room family.

You will have the opportunity to be a part of every process and see first hand where we conceptualise our ideas, work your way through each stage with the relevant departments and see the final broadcasted / live event.

Work streams may fluctuate based on how many events we are working on at any one time.

You will as part of this role provide an internship project piece.

More information will be provided during your induction and you will be supported throughout the process by our Head of Departments.


MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • You will be "shadowing" members of the team as you work within each department to actively observe and learn as they perform their daily duties and activities; learning what the role entails via indirect experience.
  • You will be given the opportunity to assist with light tasks and work for the department assigned to you at the time.
  • You'll be encouraged to ask questions to enable ongoing learning.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Demonstrate passion and understanding of the Boiler Room brand and vision
  • Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and support your team across a variety of projects with different timelines and urgency

  • Attend a variety of meetings
  • Be adaptable and ready to work in a fastpaced environment

SKILLS

  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written English
  • Good computer proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Drive
  • Be willing to learn how to present and discuss ideas clearly
  • Ability to work autonomously and with initiative

ATTITUDE

  • Be a brand ambassador for Boiler Room; ensuring everything you do at Boiler Room is in line with our manifesto and vision
  • Be open to feedback from your team to benefit personal/project development and learning
  • Promote teamwork and ensure effective working relations and communication across the whole company
