Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to deliver the Appointeeships Service to a diverse caseload. This position is situated at our office in Barnsley and involves travel within the community. Join our esteemed organisation dedicated to providing independent living services nationwide for individuals with disabilities and healthcare requirements.

Location: Barnsley, S75 2BL

Salary: £24,142 annually, increasing to £24,625 after a successful probation period.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Working Days & Times: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm


The Role:

  • Acting as an appointee for individuals to ensure proper financial management within guidelines.
  • Implementing Appointeeships with an individual-centric approach that fosters independence.
  • Establishing protective systems for each individual with an Appointeeship to prevent fraud and financial exploitation.
  • Collaborating with Local Authorities, the DWP, and official agencies regarding all Appointeeship matters.
  • Organizing and attending meetings/reviews with customers and officials.
  • Staying informed about legislative changes related to Appointeeships.
  • Managing and updating information on a central database for all Appointeeship recipients.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience providing information or advice in a customer service setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills tailored to the audience.
  • Proficient diary and workload management.
  • Valid driving license with unrestricted vehicle use.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Generating high-quality documents and letters.
  • Maintaining accurate data records.
  • Strong telephone etiquette.
  • Collaborative and independent work capabilities.
  • Flexible work approach and deadline adherence.
  • Problem-solving and financial acumen.
  • Minimum GCSE Grade '4 or equivalent in English and Maths required.
