A fantastic opportunity for a passionate, motivated and resilient paediatric nurse to join a team of Nurse specialists caring for children and young people who have experienced acute and none recent sexual abuse.

You will use all your current paediatric nursing skills to support forensic paediatricians in carrying out acute medical assessments, whilst working alongside police and children's social care to ensure the best patient outcomes.

You will be redirected to Trac to apply for the vacancy.

You will have the opportunity to further develop your current safeguarding skills , and gain a good comprehension of the role of health and justice whilst supporting children and young people through challenging assessments .

You will work alongside other nurse specialists to deliver nurse led follow up clinics and ensure effective after care including links with other relevant professionals to ensure a collaborative, holistic patient focused approach.

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust define a nurse specialist as a qualified nurse where the primary purpose of role is to provide guidance and support based on advanced level knowledge to patients, carers and health professionals concerning a specific disease/condition.

o Contributes to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for a designated group of patients.o Support the development of nursing practice within the specialist field and contribute to the body of nursing knowledge.o Contributes to training and education within specialist area.

oMeets Nursing and Midwifery Council standards for student supervision and assessment (formally Mentorship) if relevant to role.
