Driver Essential? Yes. To drive a fully adapted automatic vehicle. Must be over 21 for insurance purposes.

Essential:
Experience of working with children and/or adults with physical disabilities. Non-smoker/Vaper. Female Only*. Fluent in English. Confident swimmer. Willing to travel abroad with the family. Graduate or working towards a degree.

Desirable:
An interest in history or playing on Xbox would be an advantage.

Start Date:
September 2023 (Interviews to take place in June as family will be away over the summer)

Days & Hours:

Term time:
5 day week, Tuesday - Friday 6.30am-8.30am then 5.30pm-9.30pm & Saturday 8.00am to 8.00pm

School holidays:
5 day week, 4 week days at 6 hours a day and Saturday 12 hour days, Sundays and Mondays off (Flexibility needed around times/hours as they may vary. Willingness to cover other Support Workers annual leave - all additional hours will be paid extra, and Rota will be prepared in advance)

About this client/child:

Nazir (15) lives at home with Mum, Dad, and twin sister in the lovely neighbourhood of Barnes. Nazir's schooling is split between home and school, supported by an LSA. Nazir's great passion is history and classical studies.

He enjoys activities such as chess, playing on Xbox, going out to the movies or museums, and spending time with friends.

Nazir attends hydrotherapy on the weekend at a local pool and has physiotherapy every day from his support workers. Nazir has Cerebral palsy, a cochlear implant, is a wheelchair user, and requires support with all personal care needs.

Overview of role:


Nazir requires a *female, Live-In Support Worker to assist him with all his personal care (toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing), physiotherapy, and keeping his rooms and equipment clean and tidy.

He likes to spend time with friends and would like someone to facilitate this, at home and out at various activities such as going to the movies or museums.

Nazir has a twin sister and it's important that she is included in activities too. There may also be some homework support required, Nazir is studying for his GCSE's.

Nazir would like someone with lots of positive energy to be proactive on the evenings and weekends, play chess or Xbox with him, and travel internationally in the school holidays.


Term time:
Tuesday - Friday 6.30am-8.30am then 5.30pm-9.30pm & Saturday 8.00am - 8.00pm (with some flexibility)

School holiday: 4 weekdays of 6-hour days and 12-hour days on Saturday. Flexibility needed particularly when the family are travelling abroad - all additional hours paid extra. Up to £30,000 gross P/A.

Who this job would suit:


This job would suit a smart and energetic female, a non-smoker/vaper with good experience working with children or adults with a physical disability.

Someone physically fit to provide manual handling with hoists and all forms of personal care. This position could suit a student as there will be lots of free time during the day to study.
