Southport, Sefton, United Kingdom St Michael's Church of England High School Full time

About you

  • Are you an excellent teacher, whose evidence informed practice promotes the highest outcomes for learners?
  • Are you passionate about every learner accessing an innovative education and excellent teaching?
  • Are you committed to ensuring that all learners achieve the highest possible standards?
  • Are you steeped in evidenceinformed research about what practice has the biggest impact in all schools, particularly in secondary schools?
  • Are you incisive and able to coach and develop others to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils?

If so, you could be our Trust Quality Assurance Lead, and able to work with our School Improvement team to embed the very best quality of education across our schools.

About Us

LDST is a multi-academy trust of 16 primary schools and one secondary across the Diocese of Liverpool, with ambitions for further growth across both sectors.

We are also fortunate to have a Behaviour Hub.

Built upon our distinctly Christian values, we have a strong track record of school improvement, as evidenced in recent OFSTED and SIAMs inspections and our outcomes at primary are consistently above national averages.

This has been achieved through a strong culture of collaboration, enabling best practice to be shared and talented staff to thrive; an unshakeable expectation for every child to achieve; and a commitment to continuing to develop ourselves and our practices.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Our Trust Quality Assurance Lead (TQAL) will be employed to work Trust wide, modelling the very best teaching and evaluating curriculum, teaching, and learning across our schools.

In the first instance, the postholder will be deployed to our Secondary School to enable them to grow the capacity to be self-sustaining, in order to secure the highest standards of learning and achievement for students.

Through teaching, instructional coaching, embedding robust systems for accountability and clear definition of roles, our TQAL will develop middle leaders and staff and bring capacity to senior leadership teams to bring about rapid improvement.

You will work within our School Improvement Team, under the direction of our Trust Education Director.

Our leaders are united in their relentless pursuit of excellence, so you will join a team with a collective appetite for change and improvement.

What LDST can offer:

  • A commitment to STCD, which maintains teachers' terms and conditions.
  • A passionate, positive, highly skilled, and motivated central team who put children at the heart of every decision.
  • A dynamic and forwardthinking School Improvement team who are outward facing and determined to create the best opportunities for the children.
  • A reputable Trust with a track record of highquality education and experience of leading rapid school improvement.
  • A family of schools with relationships at its heart, ensuring a friendly atmosphere and supportive ethos.
  • Extensive CPD to support your development. This includes access to the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers and Executive Leaders.
  • The opportunity to contribute to national thinking, through our close working relationships with the CEFEL
  • Flexibility to be involved in wider activity, e.g., Ofsted, NPQ delivery, work within our behaviour hub etc.
  • Recognition that all schools are unique, with an approach that values local leadership and accountability and governance that is responsive to community needs.
