About the role:


Leicester Kidney Lifestyle Team (LKLT) are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Project Assistant to provide high-quality administrative support role in a new project aiming to implement and evaluate lifestyle self-management resources for kidney patients and healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care.

This project is an integral element within our wider Kidney Lifestyle Research Programme (KLRP) and offers scope for career development in an emerging field in health research.


The LKLT is a multidisciplinary group running a portfolio of clinical and laboratory studies investigating the biomedical, clinical and psychosocial effects of lifestyle interventions in patients with chronic kidney disease; our research explores the mechanisms underlying these effects, and develops and tests strategies for implementing interventions in clinical practice.

Our team has nationwide and international collaborations and boasts exciting opportunities for disseminating work through international conferences and publications.


You will have strong organisational and time management skills in order to provide support in the day-to-day running of the project.

You will be involved with recruiting study participants and arranging patient study visits. You will collect and record relevant patient demographic data and details of medical history if relevant. You will organise participant study data in databases, prepare data for and support (where appropriate) with analysis under supervision.

For qualitative work you will assist with visits on the day and will be trained if necessary to complete interviews and focus group meetings should you wish as part of your CPD.

You may be trained to undertake analysis of qualitative data should you wish.

You will support the collation and organisation of scientific literature for systematic and scoping reviews to inform the direction of the project.

You will have an important role in communicating with the program steering committee and the patient public involvement groups and arranging meetings for these groups.

You will attend these meetings and record minutes, actions and outcomes.


The post is funded for 1 years in the first instance with scope to continue with satisfactory first year review.
