The Role
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Inspector to join our Steel & Slab team in Port Talbot.

Reporting to the Electrical Plant Engineer, the purpose of the role is to own and lead the inspections to ensure that we are achieving zero delays between planned maintenances.


The Electrical Inspector will maintain an intimate knowledge of the plant condition and performance through detailed running and shutdown inspections, measurements and daily interaction with Team Members operating the plant.

You will be expected to repair immediately, or as soon as practical, all defects found or reported, either personally, with the assistance or co-ordination of other Engineering personal or through direct instruction of others.


Within the role, you will continually update, monitor and refine the maintenance regime in our SAP system, including the maintenance of detailed "fit for purpose" records and histories.

You will assist and carry out where appropriate the failure analyses and implement practical cost effective solutions.

The Electrical Inspector will actively participate in and implement solutions generated via problem solving activity with a wide range of other personnel as appropriate.

Having experience of working in a COMAH site and understanding of DSEAR regulations would be preferred. We also require applicants to have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate. The ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
