QC Inspector on a
full-time permanent basis.
Based at their facility in
Great Yarmouth, the QC Inspector will perform dimensional & welding inspections and attending inspection, test, and document review verification points, both on and offsite.
Duties/Responsibilities
- To conduct Quality Control visual, dimensional, and welding inspection in house or at suppliers' locations on new or modified product to ensure standard and or specification compliance
- To submit nonconformance reports in response to deviations
- Verify fabricator/ supplier QC activities and certification in accordance with company drawings and inspection and test requirements
- Maintain and progress company calibration process on gauges and measuring equipment
- Propose and drive QC improvements to aid efficiency and delivery
- Visual inspection and dimensional checks of completed welds against specification requirements and drawings
- Establish the most suitable welding procedure is available, has been approved as required by the appropriate authority and is being employed in production
- Verification that adequate and valid welder approvals are available, and that only approved welders as required are used in production
- Verification against documentation and markings of correctness of parent materials
- Verification of correctness of welding consumables
- Verification that dimensions, fit up and weld preparations are in accordance with the engineering drawings
- Verification that preheat (where required) is in accordance with specified procedures
- Surveillance during welding to verify compliance with specified procedure, including any preheat, interpass temperature and post heat requirements
- Preparation of inspection reports
Requirements:
- Experienced QC in engineering, machining, and fabrication
- CSWIP Welding Inspector
- Level 3 or above engineering qualification preferred
- Experience and understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancing
- Experience of use of a range of measuring instruments
- Knowledge within welding inspection and documentation review
- Knowledge of Oil and gas industry standards and specifications and automated measuring equipment would be desirable
- Ability to interpret Engineering drawings and relevant standards
- Attention to detail
