The role

J McCann currently has an opportunity for a HIAB Operative to join our North West Delivery Team.

Your role will be to assist with the installation of Road Lighting, Traffic Signs, and other associated equipment, including excavation, cable laying, installation and the removal of columns, signposts, and feeder pillars.


Required Critical Behaviours

  • Valid HGV Class C Licence
  • Current HIAB Crane certificate CPCS or ALLMI
  • Previous experience of working in a HIAB operations environment within Street Lighting is essential
  • No more than 6 points on driving licence
  • Ability to understand construction drawings
  • Extremely organised and punctual
  • Great communication skills
  • Positive cando attitude

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the loading of the vehicle to ensure materials are safely loaded and secure, minimising the chance of damage
  • Collect and deliver equipment to site
  • Comply with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements
  • Ensure all safe working practices are always followed for the safety of yourself and others
