The role of Goods In/Out Operative requires a proactive and enthusiastic individual to provide efficient, professional, and comprehensive assistance within the warehouse.

This is an extremely busy role where you will be required to undertake a range of duties in this dynamic and fast paced global operation and to work with the team to maintain the efficient working of the warehouse.


Key accountabilities - main areas of responsibility

Goods In

  • Receive and unload all goods delivered to the company
  • Carry out an inspection of goods received checking for damage, quantities and quality of items
  • Check goods against supplier's delivery notes and internal purchase order for accuracy
  • Notify Warehouse Manager of any damaged goods received and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Ensure all stock movement is accurately recorded and coordinate stock returned
  • Ensure all paperwork is passed to Accounts on a daily basis

Goods Out

  • Accurately pick stock items in accordance with the outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the customer's requirements
  • Notify Customer SuccessTeam of any short shipments/short picks
  • Pack and label all outstanding deliveries to ensure goods arrive undamaged
  • Highlight potential stock shortage by being aware of production and service requirements
  • Load ups/carrier shipments and ensure all paperwork is correct

Stock Control

  • Control Warehouse inventory by coordinating movement of product from Production to Warehouse to Shipping
  • Responsible for the Goods In / Out areas to comply with the Health and Safety, insurance requirements and to generally maintain it in a tidy and orderly way
  • Ensure products are stored in their designate area and labelled accordingly
  • Adjust storage areas according to requirements and update location database as required
  • Complete stock checks as required
  • Assist with stock counts and investigate any discrepancies

Other

  • Communicate any issues or improvements to the Warehouse Manager
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas
  • Support other members of the team where necessary
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area
  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing for self and others at all times, complying with Health and Safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents, incidents or near misses to allow corrective action to be taken
  • Load delivery trucks
  • Ensure the general warehouse facilities are kept in a professional and orderly manner
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time
