We have an exciting opportunity for several Nurse Trainer - Clinical Skills positions to help in the development of our newly formed education and development team.

Our NHS Professionals Academy provides high-quality, cost-effective education and training solutions for NHS Trusts and Integrated Care Systems.


The successful individual will facilitate the delivery of a range of programmes: supporting the preparation of International Nurses undergoing the overseas nurse test of competency (OSCE) to gain nursing registration in the UK, Care Support Workers undergoing the Care Certificate and NHSP Mandatory Statutory training.


This new initiative builds on the innovative work being undertaken at NHSP to support the NHS workforce development through a range of educational initiatives including international nurse and midwifery recruitment, across the UK.


Working Arrangements:
On Site programme delivery / Training and some home-based working


Salary:
£40,000 per annum /

Skills/Responsibilities:


The Nurse Trainer - Clinical Skills will join the Education Team at NHSP a team who are developing a portfolio of programmes to support; international nurses and midwives from their home country through the NMC registration process and making the transition into practice with the NHS (OSCE), Care Support Workers starting their Carer Journey in acute adult, mental health and children and young people settings and NHSP members building a portfolio of skills to best equipment for safe clinical practice.

  • Cofacilitate the Mandatory & Statutory Training
  • Support new programme development
  • Evaluate programme delivery and inform new developments

Accountabilities:

  • To contribute to the development of a series of bespoke curriculum in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) preregistration standards and competencies for all nurses and midwives.
  • To provide academic, professional and practical support to international nurses/midwives in preparing for their examination to gain NMC registration.
  • To assess the performance of all training programme by conducting regular reviews and feedback from users and client trusts for continuous improvement and effectiveness of the curriculum

Responsibilities:

  • To deputise in the absence of the Education Leads.
  • Design and continuously improve and adapt all NHSP training programmes to meet changing requirements of the NMC & other accrediting organisations.
  • Facilitate all aspects of international nurse/midwife OSCE preparation training.
  • Develop lesson plans and educational material based on best evidence.
  • Support learners in practice and identify opportunities and educational needs for their ongoing development.
  • Promote critical thinking among learners and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical and educational trends in OSCE preparation training, Care Certificate and Mandatory Statutory training.
  • Support other education programme delivery within the Academy
