Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist service users to meet basic hygiene needs, assisting with washing, bathing, showering and dressing, personal and continence care.
- To prompt and administer medication, if the service user is unable to do this for themselves. Training is provided.
- To assist service users with nutrition and hydration, preparation of meals and drinks.
- To encourage service users independence, to enable them to stay at home for as long as possible.
- To keep factual, accurate records. To remain vigilant and report any safeguarding or health and safety concerns.
- Remain calm under pressure and have knowledge of protocol in emergency situations.
- Maintain customer confidentiality. Treat all service users with dignity and respect.
- Adhere to Dignicare policies and procedures.
- To assist service users with domestic duties.
- To shop and collect medication when required.
