Mascot Sessional Worker Job Description

Job Title:
Mascot and Playwork Sessional Worker

Location:
Kingswinford and surrounding areas

Hours:
Casual basis - as and when required

Reporting to:
Ceri Davies, Managing Director

Rate of Pay:
£12 for first hour of work, minimum wage for age per hour after. Promotion possible to shift leader at minimum wage for age for after the first hour.

  • To interact with children and young people whilst being a mascot character. Female applicants may be expected to dress up as princesses and male applicants as super heroes.
  • Work alongside another sessional worker to ensure mascot costume is on correctly.
  • To entertain customers that come to MMP CIC events.
  • Take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety and for that of others who may be affected by his or her work as required by law and outlined in the relevant policy. This will involve following risk assessments in place and reporting any concerns to the managing director.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of children and young people.

Person Specification

  • Must be 16 years plus and experienced in supporting children and young people in an informal environment.
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills.
  • A proactive caring approach with enthusiasm and commitment to entertain children, young people and their families.
  • Be willing to undertake appropriate training to enhance sessional work which will be paid at minimum wage for age per hour.
  • Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS check (funded by organisation)

£7.83-£12.00 per hour
