Job Description

The Key Account Manager will inherit a strong customer portfolio, but the focus of this role will be to increase the volume of clients. This is a strategic new business role, aiming to partner with manufacturers in-order to solve their motion challenges. The focus of this role will be develop customers in the businesses 20+ market sectors, with a clear and concise new business plan.

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to meet sales growth targets.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships with existing high spending accounts.
  • Engage with new and existing customers design teams in order to provide long term solutions for motion control challenges.
  • Identify new business opportunities within new and existing market sectors in order to increase the volume of customers.
  • This will be a stand alone role in the UK, so the individual will need to be able to operate autonomously and effectively to grow the UK market.
  • Provide customer feedback internally working closely with your technical teams who operate globally.
  • Collaborate with the wider business to maximise profit margins and market penetration.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by dealing with any issues promptly and effectively.
  • Understand and keep up-to-date with industry trends and conduct thorough market analysis to ensure the business remains competitive versus the competition.
  • Participate in marketing events, trade shows and company meetings when required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Key Account Manager should have:

  • A degree in Engineering or a background in Electrical, Electronic or Electromechanical markets is required.
  • Proven track record in developing Key Accounts, whilst also being able to develop new customers in what will be a new business focused role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with an ability to talk through calculations, dimensions and applications at a granular level before engaging the technical support team.
  • Strong understanding of the UK market with an ability to scope out new customers through your previous client relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel across the UK when needed, but also internationally to spend time at the different global manufacturing sites.
