As part of the BU2025 Strategy, there are a three major programmes;
- IT Investment Plan – ensure our core infrastructure - Data Centre, networks, Audio Visual systems and platforms are fit for future growth and expansion and support delivery of strategic applications
- Digital Enablers Plan – change the way that BU delivers services to our staff and students ensuring that we deliver best in class applications and digitalisation and automation in our processes
- Information and Cyber Security Plan - deliver security enhancements to protect BU data and systems form cyber threat
The IT Programmes and Digital Transformation Team (PDT) team at Bournemouth University manage delivery of the BU2025 programme of work above, this incorporates strategic IT and Business projects. The programme ranges from major strategic projects initiated by Faculties, Professional Services and internally by IT to small requests for enhancements and service improvements.
The PDT team aim to deliver all of these projects using standard consistent processes, ensuring that quality and service robustness are built into the delivery with requirements being clearly articulated and managed to delivery throughout the project process.
The IT Programme Manager is critical to this objective and will be responsible for governance and oversight of the IT Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDL) ensuring that deliverables for milestone gates are met and that agreed PDL processes are being followed.
This role will also be responsible for managing larger projects ensuring that project delivery is to a high quality and to time and budget.
You will have experience in delivery of projects and change in a structured environment and be dynamic, driven, work to high standards and be able to build collaborative relationships with both customer areas and IT professionals. A technical background is preferred. This is an exciting time to join the team as the work required is very varied and touches on all major University systems and processes.
