We are currently looking for a
Accredited Financial Investigator
to join our Criminal Enforcement Unit
within the Safety and Surveillance group.**This is a
full-time opportunity, on a
permanent basis.

The role will is home based. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

The Safety and Surveillance group is responsible for regulating all medicines and medical devices in the UK by ensuring they work and are acceptably safe.


The Criminal Enforcement Unit (CEU) is responsible for the investigation of breaches of medicines and devices regulations and associated legislation.

The work involves dealing with an increasing volume of cases of alleged non-compliance with the regulations, in addition to proactive investigation initiatives in certain key areas.

Financial Investigators within the CEU support this activity within both the civil and criminal arenas.

Purpose of the role;

  • To maximise the use of POCA (Proceeds of Crime Act, 2002) powers in support of CEU objectives.
  • To support criminal and civil investigations including the management of confiscation, cash seizures and Account Freezing Orders (both cash and crypto based).

Key responsibilities:
  • To gather evidence in support of CEU criminal and civil investigations making use of all available intelligence and information systems.
  • To support the MHRA intelligence function via the development and sharing of relevant product.
  • To support the Financial Investigation Unit team leader in other POCA based activity including site visits and the execution of warrants.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience and exposure to PACE, RIPA and CPIA.
  • The ability to be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and the flexibility to be able to undertake work that often requires working away from the base office, overnight allowances apply.
  • Proven ability to act professionally as the organisation's representative when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders.
